U-LITS provides a comprehensive suite of digital livestock management services designed for every stakeholder in Uganda’s livestock value chain.
Farm Registration & Management
Register your farm with a unique Livestock Holding Code (LHC), capture GPS coordinates, and manage your entire operation from a single dashboard. U-LITS supports dairy, beef, and mixed farming operations, with real-time population tracking for cattle, goats, sheep, and pigs. Farm owners can grant tiered access to managers, workers, and veterinary officers.
Animal Identification & Tracking
Every animal registered on U-LITS receives a dual identification: an Electronic ID (E-ID) and a Visual ID (V-ID) ear tag. This enables complete traceability from birth to slaughter. Track breed, sex, age, weight, health history, parentage, and photos. Batch registration allows efficient data entry for large herds, while QR code scanning enables instant animal lookup in the field.
Health & Veterinary Services
Comprehensive health record management including vaccination schedules, disease testing (FMD, brucellosis, tuberculosis, ECF, lumpy skin disease), treatment records with drug batch tracking and withdrawal periods, and temperature monitoring. The system supports 23+ event types covering health, reproduction, production, and management activities.
Vaccination Campaign Management
Plan, execute, and track vaccination campaigns across entire districts. Manage vaccine stock at district level, schedule vaccination sessions, record batch vaccinations, and generate coverage reports. Particularly critical for FMD vaccination programmes that require coordinated roll-out across quarantine zones.
Digital Movement Permits
Apply for livestock movement permits digitally with a streamlined 4-step process. The permit workflow routes applications from farmer to SCVO review to DVO approval. Each permit includes route checkpoints that can be verified via QR code scanning. Movement types include sale, slaughter, breeding, grazing, and exhibition.
Slaughter House & Butchery Traceability
Complete farm-to-fork traceability through our slaughter house management module. Record ante-mortem and post-mortem inspections, manage carcass distribution (hindquarters, forequarters, offals), track primal cuts, and generate printable labels with barcodes. Every meat cut links back to the original animal for full consumer transparency.
Livestock Marketplace
Buy and sell livestock through our integrated e-commerce platform. Create detailed product listings with photos, health records, and verified provenance. Vendor profiles with verification badges ensure trust, while in-app messaging connects buyers and sellers directly. Payment integration via mobile money (Flutterwave) enables seamless transactions.
Analytics & Reporting
Access powerful dashboards with real-time analytics at farm, district, and national levels. Track population metrics, health indicators, production data (milk yield, weight gain), and financial performance. Export reports in PDF, Excel, CSV, or JSON formats.
Mobile-First, Offline-Ready
Our mobile applications for Android and iOS are built with offline-first architecture, enabling veterinary officers and farmers to capture data even in remote areas without internet connectivity. Over 30 data models are stored locally in SQLite and synchronise automatically when a connection becomes available.
